Japan Haul: Makeup & Beauty Products

A Japan haul post on some makeup and beauty products that I bought from my most recent trip. Mostly just restocking on usual products that I like and use most often while trying some new things.

As usual, always stocking up on my favourite face and eye makeup remover by Bifesta and the SANA soy milk moisturizer cream that I have been using for years.

Hand and foot mask from Daiso. I have bought the foot mask before and it really helps to keep my feet moisturized and soft so I decided to buy the hand mask too. Haven't had a chance to use them yet.

Also got these Disney character oil blotting paper sheets from Daiso.

Sailor Moon face mask and my favourite eye mask that helps to prevent wrinkles and fine lines by the brand Kracie. I also have the other 2 Sailor Moon face masks and now I have the complete collection!

This isn't really a Japanese brand product but it is one of my favourite face masks by the Taiwanese brand My Beauty Diary. It has somehow become really difficult to find them or even buy them online so I was really happy when I found them being sold at Bicqlo in Shinjuku.

Also got this heat shoulder pad from Bicqlo in Shinjuku. You heat up the pad by putting it in the microwave and it helps to ease and relief pain on the shoulders and the back.

This was actually the only make up product that I bought during my trip this time which is the Love Liner liquid eyeliner that is really popular. I got one in black and one in pink brown. Excited to try the pink brown one to see how it would look on my eyes.

A really unique and cute face wash that I saw from a YouTuber who I follow recommend buying. It forms a "rose" shape in the whip foam when you use it.

And last my favourite purchase is the SK-II facial treatment essence toner which comes in the limited cherry blossom bottle that I have been wanting to get so badly. The bottle is so pretty!!! I always buy a bottle of the toner in Japan and it usually lasts me for about a year to finish it.

Daiso Shop in Harajuku Takeshita-Dori

DAISO! If there is one place where I could literally shop at everyday in Japan and not get bored of it then it would definitely be the Daiso shop in Harajuku. You could literally find everything here from household goods and appliances, bento making tools, DIY crafts and yummy snacks that you can buy as souvenir for only $1! Seriously the best place to shop at if you want to buy things that are cheap but also in good quality as well.

Kawaii Bento: Crab Meat Egg Rolls, Zucchini & Tofu

So for one of my new year resolutions, I said I want to eat healthier with a much more well balanced diet. I haven't been slacking in doing so. In fact I have been cooking lunch so often I'm actually quite enjoying it. Everyday I'd think about what I want to cook for lunch the next day that I'm having so much fun with it. I will take pictures and document what I eat every week so that I can proudly post them in a collage at the end of the year and confess that I actually fulfilled it! Here's a super cute kawaii bento I made last week. Maybe I'll post more later on as I make more lunch bento and share it on my blog. =)

Rice with crab meat egg rolls, zucchini and tofu. A healthy and delicious lunch bento.

I've also made use of these super cute and adorable lunch bento boxes and utensils that I bought from Daiso in Tokyo. Lately I'm really into food art and making my food look cute and presentable. Packing my food in these super cute and adorable lunch bento boxes makes me feel even more excited and happy to eat my meal. Who said diet meals must look ugly and taste bad? My diet meals have been looking super cute and tasty which motivates me to continue to cook even more. (*•̀ᴗ•́*)و ̑̑

Daiso Purchases From Japan

DAISO! Have I mentioned how much I LOVE shopping there?! We need a Daiso in Toronto. Everything there is just sooooo amazing and super cute! I could seriously shop at Daiso everyday and not get bored. The one located in Harajuku on Takeshita-Dori Street is a must visit. It is really huge with 4 floors. I bought a lot of stuff there because everything is only just 100 yen so I don't have to feel guilty spending my money away. Some stuff I bought there I have already used and and eaten (food) so I don't have pictures to show them. But here are some things I brought back with me from my Japan trip. I bought a lot of bentox box and bento making utensils because I wanted to make some really cute bento box recipes that I saw through YouTube and tumblr. I can't wait to start making some beno box lunches! =D

Bought these super cute hangers to hang my clothes so that they would not stretch my clothes out when I hang them. Aren't they so cute? Only 100 yen for 2! I wanted to buy more of them but I had no more luggage space to bring them back. Next time I'll buy 4 more racks of them! XD

Also bought these vacuums bags that suck all the air from your clothes to flatten them out so you can have more storage space in your luggage. They are a must have travel item!

Also got these super cute Mickey Mouse laundry bags!

Harajuku: Takeshita-Dori Street & Omotesando

Harajuku! Another place I went to the most other than Shibuya. I think I went to Harajuku about 3-4 times. Like Shibuya, this is another popular tourist spot with many tourists and it can get super crowded on a weekend.

Just look at the insane amount of people walking down the street! And this was on a weekend. Takeshita-Dori street actually reminds me of a place in Hong Kong called "Mong Kok" 旺角 with a lot of shops lined up all in one street. They say you can find a lot of cheap stuff here but I don't know how true that is as I still find some of the stuff they sell here to be rather quite expensive. Maybe just cheaper than other places in Tokyo, lol. I don't really quite like the "Harajuku" fashion they sell here as it is more of the over dramatic side for me. Bright rainbow colours and unicorns? I think I'm getting too old for that! XD I went to Takeshita-Dori street mainly to shop at the Daiso (major dollar store) and eat fries at the Calbee+ store and take purikura pictures. I'll talk more about my experience with purikura photo booths in another separate poster later.

DAISO! I spent about $50 here buying random things from like bento boxes and decorations, food, supplies and household goods. Everything is soooooo cute and cheap here, omg! There is 4 floors and I could literally spend a whole day here and could possibly shop here everyday too! XD Taking pictures and recording videos inside was not allowed so I don't have pictures to show you what it looks like inside. But I can tell you they have just about anything you would want to buy from candies, makeup, food, furniture, Japanese goods and the list is endless. You can just find about anything and everything here, even things you would not expect to find at a dollar store.

The Calbee+ store where I had the most amazing fries with chips and ice cream! My only complaint about the Calbee+ store in this location is there is no seats for you to sit and eat. They have tables but no chairs for you sit down and eat your food which I found extremely weird. I was sooooo tired after a long day of walking and the only thing I want to do is to just sit down and rest my legs with some yummy food. o(╥﹏╥)o

The end of the Takeshita-Dori Street.

Found this crepes store at corner of the end of the Takeshita-Dori Street. Didn't get to try it, perhaps next time!

Now to the other side/area of Harajuku on Omotesando street.

I stopped by to the famous The Gindaco shop to eat their takoyaki which is located at the very front corner of Omotesando street. It was the best takokyaki that I had!

SoftBank! A popular cellphone company store in Japan. I like how that guy is just standing in front of the store so casually with those super shiny shoes he has on, lol.

Tokyu Plaza! Didn't get a chance to go in there but I just like how all the people are randomly posing like a model while waiting for the lights to cross the street, especially that guy in the black suit! LOL.

KIDDLYAND! I went to the store 4 times. It is a toy heaven for every kid and even grown adult! Will do another separate post on the store as I took a lot of pictures inside there. XD

Here's a map of the Harajuku area which is actually very easy to navigate around. I was even able to find short cuts to get to the places I want to go to after walking around the area once.

Funny story/experience: I got scouted by a fashion photographer again in Harajuku. I don't know what is with me and fashion photographers in Tokyo, it's like they're stalking me, lol. I went to Harajuku to the Kiddyland store to buy something and on that day I was wearing my totoro tattoo tights as I was at the Ghibli museum earlier. I was walking on the street of Omotesando when a Japanese guy with a DLSR camera said my totoro tattoo tights were very "kawaii" and wanted to take a picture of me in them. I politely said no to him because it was already evening at that time and plus it was raining really hard! I was holding a hand full of bags and an umbrella and I was just NOT in a good condition for a picture, lol. Perhaps if it wasn't dark at night and it wasn't raining and I wasn't not holding an umbrella then I may have agreed to have my picture taken. But then again, I don't even know what he will be doing with my picture or where it may even end up. XD
